Message from The Headmistress Desk

 HEADMISTRESS MESSAGE

As the 14th Headmistress of Milagres English Medium School, Kallianpur, since 1st July 2021, I offer you my cordial greetings. As I stepped into the premises, I learnt that the students of Milagres are good not only academically but also in sports, leadership and co-curricular activities. I highly appreciate the efforts of the school in providing all-round education to the students. Apart from striving for academic excellence, the school also nurtures students with a healthy attitude and sound moral values. The formal and informal curricula of languages, mathematics, science, humanity, aesthetics and physical development have developed our students’ multiple aptitudes for life-long learning. The school offers umpteen opportunities to the students to grow in all their faculties. I am happy that our students have reached great heights of glory in various sectors.

The achievements of the school do not come easy. The drive for excellence permeates deeply into the school culture. I would like to thank the entire staff for the professionalism and commitment, and the past heads of the institution for their invaluable contribution to this beautiful edifice of wholesome education. I place on record my sincere gratitude to all the past Correspondents beginning from V. Rev. Fr William Gonsalves, and the present V. Rev. Fr Valerian Mendonca for their logistic support and guidance. I thank the School Managing Committee and Parents for your continuous support to the school, and you, our dear students, for your diligent work and admirable achievements.

As the Headmistress, I wish to promote harmony, dedication and a win-win scenario for everyone in the school. We need to have a dedicated team aiming high. Teaching and learning are the core activities of a school. We should make the best use of every minute of the precious instruction-time on enhancing students’ learning. If we have great teachers in our classrooms, we do not have to worry about the students. The students’ welfare is our primary responsibility. The school will focus on promoting a high level of learning culture. Resources will be allocated for furnishing a conducive environment for learning. The school policies will be refined to streamline the curricular and co-curricular activities.

The school culture of Milagres on the all-round development of the students and emphasis on student-learning processes is admirable. It shall be my endeavour to have our “minds without fear and heads held high” (Tagore) to build the India-of-our-dreams. May Mary, the mother of Miracles, our patron, guide us in all our decisions. May the Lord Jesus bless us with wisdom and undaunted spirit to carry out our mission enthusiastically!  May the glorious flag of Milagres keep flying high in the sky!

Sr Shanti Prameela, BS

Headmistress.
